Enrich your child’s life through the arts this summer, and where better to be creative than at the award-winning Toledo School for the Arts, in downtown Toledo at 333 14th Street. In TSA’s Summer Arts Camp, students age 10 – 14 will enjoy two weeks of art experiences that will have them discovering their inner artist. Monday June 6th through Friday June 17th, students will have 4 art experiences daily. Class choices include visual arts, puppet construction, music, creative writing, dance, theatre, costuming, and movie making. Families are invited to attend a TSA style concert and exhibit the last day of camp. Early registration is $330 by April 30th, a 20% savings! Registration includes supplies (the glass class requires an extra supply fee), and a camp T-shirt. The average staff/camper ratio is 1:12. A one hour celebration of works-in-progress by students of TSA. Reception begins at 9 AM Live Performance at 9:30 AM. Tours Available afterward. Reservations are requested but not required. A list of First Friday dates are available here.

The purpose of this day is to give the student a first-hand look at "a day in the life of a student" by spending a regular school day with a current student. They will attend all classes and eat lunch together. It's a lot of fun! (space limitation by grade per date and completed form returned) Please fill out and return the Shadow Day Request form.

Students will learn, practice, and apply creative writing skills in a variety of genres including poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and songwriting. Students will produce and perform their own writing, as well as participate in group-discussion about the work of others. The goal of this course is not only to learn about writing, but also to be active, practicing, publishing writers.
Students can study ballet, ethnic, modern, hip hop, and stage, as well as martial arts, dance conditioning, and yoga. All of these courses receive daily instruction for credit. Each path within the dance curriculum requires an audition process to move beyond beginner to intermediate and advanced, regardless of grade level.
Students can study voice, piano, jazz, commercial music, percussion, guitar, band, orchestra, or recording technology. All of these courses receive daily instruction for credit. The Theater department at TSA offers a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum encompassing all aspects of the theater. As one of the few schools in the state with a department entirely dedicated to theater, introductory theater arts courses, acting and technical theater courses are available to all grades, and advanced theater students receive extensive instruction in acting, directing, writing, managing, and designing.
The Visual Arts department at TSA offers a rich, hands-on experience in multiple forms of visual media. The introductory, Arts Explorations, and Foundations of Art courses let beginning students create expressive work in drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and other traditional mediums, and experimentation with unconventional materials, like glass, is also encouraged. Along with technical skill, personal style, and creativity, the visual art classes also address topics of cultural significance and art history. As students advance through the Visual Arts program, they may choose to continue their training in traditional fine art mediums and/or pursue interests in photography or graphic design.
